Forbisganj, Bihar | 04 August 2026
At Welfare Voluntary Action Foundation (WVAF), we believe that every child deserves access to quality learning opportunities that go beyond textbooks. With this vision, WVAF successfully organized a 10-day Summer Camp at Step Ahead School, Forbisganj, Bihar, providing children with an engaging platform to learn, create, collaborate, and grow.
The camp was designed to combine education with creativity, helping children build confidence, develop practical skills, and discover their hidden talents through fun and interactive activities.
Encouraging Learning Through Creativity
Over the course of ten days, students actively participated in a variety of educational and creative sessions that made learning enjoyable and meaningful.
The camp included activities such as:
- Creative Writing
- Handwriting Improvement
- Art & Craft
- Cultural Learning
- Interactive Group Activities
These sessions encouraged children to express their ideas freely, improve their communication skills, and develop creativity while strengthening their academic abilities.
Creative writing activities inspired students to share their imagination through stories and essays, while handwriting sessions focused on improving writing habits, concentration, and discipline. Art and craft activities allowed children to explore their creativity through drawing, coloring, and handmade projects. Cultural learning sessions helped students understand the importance of values, traditions, and community participation.

Student-Led Khel Mela: Learning by Doing
The final day of the camp featured one of the most exciting events—the Student-Led Khel Mela.
Unlike conventional sports events, the Khel Mela was planned, organized, and managed by the students themselves. From coordinating teams to managing games and ensuring smooth execution, students took complete ownership of the event.
This practical experience helped children develop valuable life skills while enjoying the spirit of teamwork and healthy competition.
Through the Khel Mela, students enhanced important 21st-century skills such as:
- Leadership
- Teamwork
- Communication
- Collaboration
- Critical Thinking
- Creativity
- Decision Making
- Problem Solving
The confidence, enthusiasm, and responsibility displayed by the participants demonstrated the effectiveness of experiential learning.

72 Students Participated with Great Enthusiasm
A total of 72 students participated in the 10-day Summer Camp.
Each child actively engaged in the activities, making the camp a vibrant and inclusive learning experience. Every session encouraged participation rather than passive learning, ensuring that every student had an opportunity to contribute, learn, and build confidence.
Whether it was writing stories, creating artwork, participating in cultural activities, or organizing games during the Khel Mela, every child experienced learning in a joyful and supportive environment.
